A few years ago I posted a sign in the golf shop with the following information and thought it wise to post in on the blog for the benefit of patrons as well as other industry professionals that read my blog. Enjoy!
FROST DELAYS
On morning's with cold temperatures and clear skies, normally there is frost. Often times patrons believe the course is ready for play the moment the frost is gone but this is not necessarily the case.
Once the frost has lifted, the agronomy staff will be preparing the course for all players ahead of the first group. Please understand we will need enough of a "head-start" to both clean the course of yesterdays debris as well as set-up the course for today's play. Thanks for your understanding.
Regards,
David J. Soltvedt, CGCS
